I am just beside myself excited to announce our winter Bible study at Heart to Heart Women’s Bible Study! My team of leaders and I have been diligently praying and seeking God about the direction He would lead us for our next session, and He has unified our hearts about where to go next.

We will be going through the book of 1 Corinthians: Living Love When We Disagree, by Melissa Spoelstra, beginning January 23, 2017.

 

We feel that God is moving us to begin the new year with a deeper understanding of love and unity. Now more than ever, we need to be unified as the body of Christ, and I believe God wants to mend broken hearts and restore severed relationships. We will move through the book of 1 Corinthians, chapter by chapter, and learn about handling differences and avoiding strife. We will learn how to have more meaningful friendships and to live out the love of Jesus in our every sphere of influence.

 

I tell you; this study will be AWESOME!!!

 

Melissa Spoelstra is an outstanding Bible teacher and writer. I am so honored to be sharing her Spirit-led wisdom with all of you over the course of this study. I honestly believe this is God-ordained, and I know He will do a marvelous work in all our hearts. I can hardly wait to see what He will do!

 

But that is not all! I have even more exciting news!

 

We will also be reading a wonderful devotion book through the year of 2017!

 

We will be walking through the book Flourish: Live Loved, Live Fearless, Live Free, by Margaret Feinberg. We will begin on January 2, 2017.

This will be a come and go as you please study, and we will have one short devotion per week. However, these devotions pack quite a punch! How would you like to see your faith bloom like never before? How would you like to learn to live life to the fullest and discover fresh joy in your everyday life? This will be a lighter time of learning to listen to the voice of God speaking His truth and love to your very soul, and to express yourself creatively through the weekly color pages. Mary Youngmiller, one of our leaders at Heart to Heart, will be leading this study throughout the year. We will have one half hour session per week to enliven your faith and have some fun too!

 

How This Works

  • Register by leaving a comment below. Tell us where you are from and which study you plan to do. What do you hope to glean from these studies?
  • Subscribe to this site to receive future updates by email. Enter your email address in the field to the right, and then click the subscribe button.
  • Join our closed Facebook group, Heart to Heart Women’s Bible Study, for weekly interaction, activities, videos, and small group sessions. Closed means that no one will be able to see our posts unless they are members of the group. This is for your safety and privacy.
  • Small Groups: There will be a schedule for small groups pinned to the top of the Facebook group, Heart to Heart Women’s Bible Study, as we get closer to the time. All you need to do is show up, and the discussion will take place underneath the group photo.
  • Follow my ministry page on Facebook, Shari Lewis Ministries, to stay up-to-date on ministry events and for daily prayers, nuggets of wisdom and encouragement for your life, photos that you are welcome to share, and faith building blog posts to strengthen you in your walk with Christ.
  • Purchase a study book and follow the reading and group schedule. I have provided some links below. If you choose to purchase the Kindle version, I recommend also having a journal or a spiral notebook handy for notes.
  • Videos are optional and available at Lifeway.com. I will not be using the videos but will be creating my own.

Reading Schedule for 1 Corinthians

  • January 23-29: Read Week 1, “In Christ Alone” and chapters 1 and 2 of 1 Corinthians
    • Small groups: Introduction. No need to ready anything ahead of time.
  • January 30-February 5: Read Week 2, “Growing Up” and chapters 3-5 of 1 Corinthians
    • Small groups: Discuss Week 1
  • February 6-12: Read Week 3, “Everybody’s Doing It” and chapters 6-8 of 1 Corinthians
    • Small groups: Discuss Week 2
  • February 13-19: Read Week 4, “Beyond Ourselves” and chapters 9-11 of 1 Corinthians
    • Small groups: Discuss Week 3
  • February 20-26: Read Week 5, “Living Love” and chapters 12-14 of 1 Corinthians
    • Small groups: Discuss Week 4
  • February 27-March 5: Read Week 6, “Real Life” and chapters 15-16 of 1 Corinthians

Reading Schedule for Flourish

  • Read one devotion per week from January 2 – December 26, 2017. Check boxes are provided to help you keep track. Enjoy coloring the pages each week too!
  • Attend one session per week on Tuesday evenings for a quick faith pick-me-up and to share your artistic creations (optional).

 

Weekly Schedule

  • Each Monday I will post an update on the blog with a devotion, discussion questions, tips and information, and occasionally an activity. These can be found here, in your email if you subscribed, and posted on the Facebook page and group.
  • We will also have Scripture memory challenges posted on Mondays.
  • Tuesday is my favorite! We have “Faith Talk Tuesdays,” where we discuss a topic in Scripture and learn from each other. This is at your leisure.
  • Each Wednesday I will post a teaching video pertaining to the week’s study.
  • The Facebook group will have various activities or questions available throughout the week and are optional such as “Wordless Wednesday,” “Friday Favorites,” and “Weekend in the Word.”
  • Each week will run from Monday through Sunday on the schedule.
